Challenge
Difficulty in forming meaningful connections through online platforms
When using dating apps to expand their social circle, users often struggle to build genuine connections due to a lack of shared topics and trust in strangers. To bridge the gap between online perception and real-life interaction, users need more opportunities to learn about each other and participate in shared offline experiences, which can enhance trust and safety.
Objective
Integrate the dating app with offline events to enhance user trust and sense of safety in digital dating experiences.
Design Ideation
Offline Event Integration
Users can join existing events or initiate their own, creating shared experiences and topics. This helps ease the process of finding company for meals or gatherings, reducing social friction.
Map-Based Restaurant Recommendations
A restaurant recommendation feature integrated into the chat interface displays each user's location and suggests dining spots with similar proximity. Ideally connected to Google Maps, the feature allows users to view ratings and menus directly within the app for a seamless planning experience.
